It's been a while since I've read a romance novel. Mainly because the women in them either seem too weak to do anything on their own, or too hot tempered over insignificant things. Meanwhile, the male is a chauvinistic pig, or bully, that suddenly goes good all for the love of the woman. Those types of books drive me insane.

Yet, after the title of this story caught my eye and even the blurb sounded interesting, I thought I'd take a chance on it.

I wasn't sure of how the author brought George into the story, but after a while the idea grew on me and I loved the scenes with the "dragon". The heroine was kinda stiff in parts, but given what the villagers did to her at the beginning, her actions were somewhat understandable. I laughed when I read the first page, wondering what kind of book I was getting into.

While the overall story was good, I wish there was more information on the virgins. So, they were horny (ok, curious) and glimpsed in on a naked, bathing man on occasion and Pippa was the rebel among them. There wasn't a lot of depth to them and could only see the surface changes in them when they go with George in the end.

Then again, it is a romance and is focused on the hero and heroine. I haven't looked yet. Maybe they have their own stories.

I enjoyed this book as a fast, fun read in romance. I look forward to trying other books from this author.

Extremely funny and very fairy-tale-like.
A village named Markesew in medieval England is besieged by a hungry dragon who demands sheep on a daily basis and a sacrificial virgin once a year to stop him from coming ashore and wiping the farmers out. What can they do but keep picking young women each summer solstice in a 'lottery' to sate the dragon's hunger...until a young virgin sent to the dragon was too tough for the dragon's teeth...her name? Alizon...
Twelve years later, a Dragonslayer arrives unexpectedly to slay the infamous dragon...except he isn't really a dragonslayer and he isn't from Markesew...or medieval England for that matter. He's just your average run-of-the-mill professional wrestler from the CUW known to his fans as St. George the Dragonslayer...
What he stumbles upon can't be just a dream he is having or some weird fantasy of truly being a Dragonslayer...or can it?
Who is the mysterious mistress at Devil's Mount? And why is she denying him access to her fortress? Doesn't she fear the dragon?
Dream or not, George is determined to slay the dragon and save the mistress trapped in the castle...until he realizes the dream is no dream and the mistress is far more tough than the dragon...What is the secret she harbors? He must find out the truth before he is sent back to the future...and away from his heart...
Extremely funny and very sexy. My first book from Ms. Cach and definately not my last. Set amid myth and legend and a little fairytale, this story is filled with adventure and romance. So much that it will keep you flipping the pages until you find out what happens with George and the dragon.
I am a HUGE wrestling fan and I was very impressed with Ms. Cach's accuracy and with the way she explained how tough and real professional wrestling is. It's always dangerous and always exciting, but the men and women who do it on a daily basis for our entertainment, risk life and limb to make us cheer and smile. George was definately not 'cartoonish' or fake by any means. Bravo Ms. Cach!!!
...
A little afraid to read this book, crazy title and crazy cover, but it was so fun! Fantasy and lots of it.

Vivid writing, I can still create the scenes in my mind created by this talented author.

Fun, fun, fun!
Book in good condition thank you
This kindle freebie (well it was free when I got it) was really cute, a professional wrestler taking on a stinky dragon named Belch and a castleful of virgins adds a bit of humor, and a virgin who doesn't want to stay that way forever adds a bit of steamy stuff.

George 'The Saint' is really a nice guy, and a gentle giant with a self deprecating sense of humor, so he makes for a satisfying, if at times a bumbling, hero. And his heroine Alizon is just so repressed that it adds to the steamy build up of sensual tension between the pair. All in all a fun magical time travel read.
I love time travel books, and this one was not a disappointment. Charmingly written with well-drawn characters, delightful dialogue, and the perfect ending. The lead character is taken from the ranks of those incredibly boring wrestling programs on TV, and learning of the amount of showmanship involved was eye opening. The differences between a 21st century man and his life and that of a 15th century woman and hers made for an intriguing journey. I laughed, I snickered, I guffawed...and I got a tear in my eye at the end. Most satisfactory! I look forward to reading more by this talented and inventive author.
