How does that work out?
Follow the story of a young couple, Aman and Solana, twenty-five years later, in 2053, as they struggle to get married after having their marriage license rejected by the powerful Bureau of Family Protection.
They are helped by their friend Carlos, a computer genius who works for the Bureau of Family Protection. Carlos uncovers multiple conspiracies which accidentally overlap and create potentially disastrous results for the Family Protection Act.
Will Aman and Solana be able to marry despite the law? Will the Family Protection Act be saved or not?
This 'what-if' story of a near future is full of questions for all of us to think about. What will happen if the divorce rate does go higher and higher? What is the future of the American Family?

A good story is one that has me reading past the time I should be in in bed getting sleep. This one and the other books by Sharron I have read had me reading instead of bedtime.
Set in a strangly familiar future where every detail seems quite plausible Family Protection Act is a thought provoking thriller that will draw you in after only a few pages and make it difficult to let go until the last page is turned. I am so very glad that the second in this series, The Seed of Life, was already published so that I could go right on with the characters to the next level. If you like Sci fi, mystery, romance or globe trotting undercover plots with a twist you will love these books. Sharron Frink is a rising star and I look forward to enjoying more creativity from her intriguing mind.
I don't usually get into anything futuristic but I was intrigued by the idea behind this book. For the most part, many people wonder where this world is headed and everyone has a different idea about how to make our country more stable. What if the extreme conservative mentality suddenly caught on in our country? Would it really make things better? What problems might arise with government having such a huge say in how families are formed?
This was an interesting tale of what ifs set in the future without getting too bogged down in sci fi;) I think any reader would enjoy it. Can't wait for the sequel.
Being a fan of dystopian future fiction I was immediately intrigued by the brief synopsis that I read of this wonderful novel.In the first few pages I was grabbed by the fast pace of this story and the concise character development. Often times I find the good/bad characters become established too quickly for any real suspense, but in Family Protection Act you are gradually allowed to see the true motivations of the characters and it made for a thrilling read. This is no " Brave New World " ripoff, as many of this genre can easily become. Rather, it is a glimpse into the socio-political possibilities of a not so distant future, with just the right amount of cloak and dagger to make it a lot of fun!
The book from the beginning to the end was one that I could not put down. It is a story that is believable.
What is big-brother doing now?If Aldous Huxleys, Brave New World,intrigued you,you will find Sharron Frinks,'Family Protection Act",thought provoking too.
Involved enough to make it hard to put down.
after being spellbound until i finally closed the book, i looked at the cover and a shutter flashed up my spine as i thought what it would be like not to have those beautiful families nor other equally beautiful families because they had been CENSORED before they even came into existence.
